How do you handle terrible scabbing 20 days after hair transplant?

We make a point to wash off all of the crusts and scabs the day and the day after the surgery. Now that you are past 12 days, it is safe to put a shampoo on your head, leave it on for 15 minutes and then gently rub the crusts off. Repeat this twice daily until all of the crusting is off.
