I am worried about Shock loss from a Hair Transplant

I am a candidate for a hair transplant but i don’t want to use finasterade or minoxidil. A surgeon told me that the transplanted hair would create a shock loss to my existing hair and speed up hair loss. Is this true? What happens in shock loss? When you have a hair transplant, the native hair that is going through some degree of miniaturization could speed up the miniaturization process...
