Can Finasteride work on the hairline and the top of the scalp?

Does finasteride work for diffuse thinning on the top of the head as well as the upper corners of my forehead hairline thinning? Additionally, the thinned hair that remains on top of the head is fine hair. Do I have any chance of this working for me? Once can never predict who and where finasteride will work.
