is it possible that finasteride will not metabolize?

I have been on it for a year and the situation has gotten worse, now NW3 diffuse forelock. I had a bunch of vellus hairs in the beginning of the year but they have all but disappeared and I just feel that finasteride isn’t being properly metabolised or something, since I never had any sides either. With a healthy liver, the drug WILL metabolize.
