Do all me who are balding eventually become completely bald?

My father started balding in his 30s/40s, and you would assume that he would be fully bald by now. Instead, at some point, maybe in his 50s/60s, he maintained that same pattern and did not go completely bald. Did the balding gene turn off or something?

Balding men often inherit a particular balding pattern that dictates the degree to which they will bald. It is NOT common for a man who stopped balding at a Class 4A Norwood balding pattern, to end up completely bald. That 4A pattern is what they may have inherited and would likely stay a Class 4A pattern unless they got a hair transplant.
