When to start drugs when getting a hair transplant

So I’m currently bald, I plan on getting a hair transplant in the near future once I have the finances. I currently am not on medication since I’m bald, I used to be on fin and min but I stopped taking it over a year ago cause that’s when I went fully bald, I think I’m a NW4. I’m not exactly sure when I’m going to get the transplant I still am trying to find a good clinic or doctor to go to but how soon do you all think I should hop back on fin and min? I will say when I was on that combo it really wasn’t doing much growth for me just helping me maintain the hair that I did have left. So should I continue fin and min or try something else?

When you lock down the surgical date, go on finasteride at least three weeks before the transplant. Finasteride will likely prevent shock loss, a common complication of hair transplants in men under 40. Shock loss causes irreversible hair loss for the lost hair. It is also a good idea to stay on this drug for life, as it will likely slow down or prevent the progression of hair loss, which is inevitable in most young men.
